Fundraising FAQs

I want to run. Are there fundraising requirements?

No, but fundraising is essential to changing the face of cancer prevention and treatment. Your registration fee is helpful to offset the production cost of this great event and raise awareness but let’s go beyond just raising awareness – let’s put an end to prostate cancer together!

I’ve never raised money before. How do I do it?

Blue Cure can provide many great tools to help you reach your fundraising goals. When you register, you will receive your own customizable profile, which allows you to add pictures and tell others why you are participating.

You will also receive a few emails between now and event day with fundraising tips, motivation, and email templates to get you started and keep you going! We’re here for you, we promise!

Don’t forget about the power of social media. Share your personal fundraising page on Facebook and Twitter.

Just ask. You will be surprised how easy it is.

Does my registration fee count toward my fundraising amount?

YES! Your registration fee does count toward your fundraising amount and will kick off your fundraising page.

How does someone make a donation?

A donor can make a donation by credit card from your personal fundraising page. Just send them the link to your page and they can click the big orange “Donate” button.

If they prefer to send you a check directly, they may write the check out to you and you can enter the donation online on their behalf.

Can cash donations be submitted?

No, Blue Cure Run cannot accept cash donations. It is not safe to send cash through the mail, so please remind your donors not to do so.

Can anyone donate to Blue Cure Run?

ABSOLUTELY! And we encourage you to share with everyone you know, far and wide. After all, Blue Cure Foundation isn’t just a local organization and prostate cancer certainly isn’t just a local issue.

What are the minimum and maximum donations you can make?

The sky is the limit!

Can donors be anonymous?

Yes – when entering a donation, the donor can click “Don’t show my name” before submitting.

Is Blue Cure a 501(c)(3)?

Yes, Blue Cure Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our tax ID number is 27-4060294.

Is my donation tax deductible and if so, when will I receive a tax receipt?

All donations are 100% tax deductible and our nonprofit partner, Network for Good, will send you a donation receipt for your records. Also, note that your donation will appear on your credit card statement under the name Network for Good.

Am I eligible to receive fundraising incentives?

Any participant is eligible to receive fundraising incentives, but all levels must be reached individually. Though you are encouraged to create or join a team when registering, team fundraising totals will not be considered for fundraising incentives.

What are the different incentive levels?

Coming soon! Keep any eye on your email as new incentives are added and announced!

What is the fundraising deadline?

To guarantee that you receive your incentives at the event, fundraising levels must be met prior to 12:00 PM CST on Friday, September 16th, 2016. In order to continue the fight to end cancer, fundraising will remain open until 11:59 PM on Friday, October 7th, 2016 and we will work to distribute incentives earned after the event by October 31st.

Will donors be contacted by Blue Cure or any other organizations?

Blue Cure donor names and contact information will never be sold or shared. However, donors may receive a follow up email after the event thanking them for their support.
